Cow brushes

Natural behaviour is essential for cows that need to optimally perform. DeLaval cow brushes improve animal welfare and promote correct cow traffic in the barn. They are developed to increase:

The cow brush improves animal welfare by increasing blood circulation while keeping the cows clean, busy and calm.  

A cow brush promotes cow traffic and natural behaviour. It contributes to the herd’s overall well. Cows will not scratch themselves against the interior any longer, which saves costs and prevents accidents. Increased cow performance is also achieved through better feed intake and milk yield.

Advantages

- One brush suits 50 to 60 cows. The brush should be installed in a free area and there is no need to force the cows to pass the brush.

- Grooming doesn’t get boring so the usage is constant. 

- Cows like to groom sensitive areas too – especially around the eyes (to get rid of parasites).

- The ranking of the herd doesn’t have an influence on the amount of grooming.  

- The cows are calmer and more balanced.

- The cow brush is nearly 24 hours in use.
